Charvátová débuted at the senior level at the 1978 World Championships, where she placed ninth in the combined. During her career, Charvátová competed at one Olympic Games in 1984, where she won a bronze in downhill and at three World Championships (1978, 1982 and 1985), her best finish being fifth in combined in 1982.
