Milena Rezková-Hubnerová grew up in the Holešovice district of Praha, where she attended the Masaryk School. She began with ballet and rhythmic gymnastics, until her talent for the high jump was discovered. Rezková surprised in the 1968 Olympic year, when she became national champion and improved her PR from 1.66 m to 1.87 metres, and went on to win the gold medal at Mexico City. She followed that with victory at the 1969 European Championships, and was world-ranked #1 in 1968 and 1969. She remained in the world rankings through 1973, ranking sixth in 1970-71 and ninth in 1972-73. Rezková-Hubnerová placed fifth at the 1971 and 1974 European Championships, and was sixth at the 1973 European Indoors. She competed through 1977. Rezková-Hubnerová married Rudolf Hübner, a 1968 Olympic high jumper, and later became a goldsmith and a youth coach for her club.
