バイオグラフィー

After winning the 1928 Final Trials, Herman Brix set a new Olympic record of 51-8 (15.75) on his first attempt in Amsterdam. However, he could not match the new world record of 52-0¾ (15.87) set by countryman John Kuck later in the competition. Brix won the AAU for four years straight (1928-31), the NCAA in 1927, and the AAU indoor in 1930 and 1932, his winning mark in 1930 of 51-2½ (15.61) being a new world indoor record. In 1932 he had a career best of 52-8¾ (16.07) in May, but could not maintain his form and failed to make the team for the Los Angeles Games. Herman Brix, a graduate of the University of Washington, later became a movie actor, changing his name to Bruce Bennett in 1940. He featured in the title role in several Tarzan films and was well known as the second lead in several well-known films, including Mildred Pierce.

Personal Best: SP – 16.07 (1932).
