Erv Hall set an Olympic record of 13.3 in winning the first semi-final in Mexico, but in the final he could not match Willie Davenport's superb start, and Davenport went on to take the gold medal in a time which matched Hall's semi-final clocking. While attending Villanova, Hall won the IC4A title in 1968.
