West German light-heavyweight boxer Emil Willer lost his first round bout at the 1960 Roma Olympic Games against eventual silver medalist Zbigniew Pietrzykowski from Poland. Pietrzykowski would lose the final against Cassius Clay who later became famous as professional boxer Muhammad Ali. In 1956 Willer won the West German light-heavyweight championship, winning as a heavyweight in 1959. Willer was trained as a pipefitter.
