バイオグラフィー

In addition to his two Olympic medals, Bob Seagren was the Pan American Games champion in 1967 and, indoors and outdoors, he won a total of six AAU and four NCAA titles. He also broke the world outdoor record six times, finishing up with a vault of 18-5¾ (5.63) at the 1972 Final Trials, but in München he was handicapped by a last minute IAAF ruling which forced him to change his pole and he failed to retain his Olympic title. He was equally prolific as a record breaker on the indoor circuit and broke the indoor record eight times between 1966 and 1969. Seagren graduated from USC in 1969 and, after his outstanding amateur career, turned professional and won the first U.S. Superstars competition in 1973 and the first World Superstars title in 1977. He has since worked as an actor, but later was an executive with a major running shoe company.

Personal Bests: 880y – 2:00.5 (1967); 440yH – 52.3 (1969); PV – 18-5¾ (5.63) (1972).
