バイオグラフィー

Alice Arden was a high jumper who represented the St. George’s Dragon Club. She was the 1933 AAU Outdoor Champion, and won the AAU Indoors in 1934-35, before tieing for ninth at the 1936 Olympic Games. In 1936 she placed second in the high jump at the AAU/Olympic Trials. Her son, Russ Hodge, was a very talented decathlete who competed at the 1964 Olympic Games, and set the decathlon world record in 1966. Arden later became an administrator of the sport, serving on the US Olympic Committee Women’s Track & Field Committee during the 1950s. She and her husband, also Russ Hodge, ran a dairy farm, a gravel business, and a furniture store in upstate New York.
