Biografia

Thomas Ceccon's first Olympic experience came at the Youth Olympic Games Buenos Aires 2018, where he won the men's 50m freestyle title, silver medals in the 50m backstroke and 200m individual medley, and bronze in the 100m backstroke and 4x100m freestyle relay.

At the Tokyo 2020 Olympics in 2021, he helped Italy claim silver in the men's 4x100m freestyle relay, and bronze in the men's 4x100m medley relay, and just missed out on a medal with a fourth-place finish in the 100m backstroke.

But the best was yet to come, because in 2022, Ceccon won the 100m backstroke world title and smashed the world record (51.60) at the world championships in Budapest.

The 2001-born swimmer also displayed his impressive versatility at the the world champs with a fourth-place finish in the 50m back and fifth in the 50m butterfly, in addition to a 47.5 leg in the 400m freestyle relay.

Using that momentum, Ceccon went on to win six medals at the 2022 European Championships, including individual golds in the 100m back and 50m fly.
