Biografia

Scotty Bozek attended the University of Massachusetts in Boston, graduating in 1972 with a degree in Russian Studies. In addition to his two Olympic appearances, Bozek competed at the 1971 and 1975 Pan American Games, winning gold medals both years in team épée and a silver medal in 1971 in individual épée. He was US Champion with the épée in 1973 and 1975.

Bozek later attended Columbia University, where he earned a masters in international affairs in Central and Eastern European Studies. He also studied at the National Defense University, the Industrial College of the Armed Forces, where he received another masters in national resource strategy in 1999. Bozek had a long career with the United States’ Senior Foreign Service, spending over 30 years in international business and government affairs. He started with the US Department of Commerce in 1974, working as an economist in the Bureau of East-West Trade. Bozek was a senior advisor to the Assistant Secretary and Director General of the US Commercial Service from 1996-98. He has worked at multiple US embassies and consulates throughout the world, notably in Russia from 2005-08. From 2008-12 Bozek was Principal Commercial Officer at the US Consulate General in Toronto.
