Biografia

Marshall Wayne was the only double medalist in the men’s diving events at the 1936 Olympics. A member of the Biltmore AC in Miami, he was the AAU outdoor platform champion in 1934 and 1936. Following the Olympics he turned professional and joined Billy Rose’s Aquacades. In World War II he was an Air Force fighter pilot, flying 37 reconnaissance missions over Europe. As a colonel, his plane was shot down over Italy, and he was helped by Italians who took him to a British Aid Station and then to England where he had surgery. Wayne later served as a commercial pilot for Pan-Am for 27 years.
