Biografia

Born in Oslo, Ivar Iversen was a five-time Norwegian Champion in flatwater canoeing between 1936 and 1946. He competed in the Olympic Games in 1936, placing eighth in K1 1000 m, and at the 1948 World Championships was a member of the silver medal winning Norwegian relay team in K1 4x500 m together with Ivar Mathisen, Hans Martin Gulbrandsen, and Eivind Skabo), but he was not selected for the 1948 Olympic Team. Iversen worked as a salesman agent and office administrator in Oslo until his retirement. When he died in 2012, close to 98 years of age, Iversen was at the time the oldest Norwegian Olympian.
