Biografia

Hidekichi Nagamatsu won the lightweight division of the 1934 Amateur Boxing Association Championships in Japan, a title that he would win eleven times in his life, and was selected to represent his country in the 1936 Summer Olympics in Berlin. He was the coach of the Japanese boxing delegations to the 1964 and 1968 Summer Olympics and director of the national boxing program during the 1972 Munich Olympics. He was also a graduate of, and professor at, Meiji University and contributed to two publications on the science of boxing in 1968 and 1970. He was recognized for his achievements in his sport during the 1980 Summer Olympics in Moscow and died of a sudden heart attack at the age of 78.
