Biografia

Elfi Eder’s first international appearance was at the 1987 World Junior Championships, placing fifth in the giant slalom. A year later she won a bronze medal in GS at that event, and began racing Europa Cup for Austria, winning the seasonal slalom title in 1989-90. Eder represented Austria through the 1997-98 season, but when her coach Gottfried Trinkl was released from the Austrian national team that season, she became upset and transferred her allegiance to Grenada, representing that island nation in the 1998-99 season, after which she retired.

Eder was primarily a technical skiier, with the slalom her best event. She won a bronze medal in slalom at the 1993 World Championships in Japan, and had seven podium placements in World Cup slalom events, winning three times. These World Cup wins all came in the 1995-96 season, and she won the seasonal title in slalom for that season. In 1994 Eder was given a silver medal for her services to the Republic of Austria. Her sister, Sylvia Eder, was also a top international skiier who competed at four Winter Olympics and won three silver medals at the World Championships.
