Biografia

Born in a military base in Germany but brought up in Alaska, Carlos Boozer won the NCAA title with Duke in 2001 before being drafted by the Cleveland Cavaliers the following year.

After three seasons in Ohio, the power forward completed a controversial move to the Utah Jazz just weeks before his Olympic debut at Athens 2004.

He played an important role from off the bench in Greece, averaging 6.1 rebounds per game, but could not stop the USA falling to Argentina in the semi-finals before they beat Lithuania to claim bronze.

Boozer led the Jazz to the Western Conference Finals in 2007, where they went down to the San Antonio Spurs.

He earned his second All-Star selection before making the Beijing 2008 squad, linking up again with veteran Duke coach Mike Krzyzewski, after Amar'e Stoudemire pulled out citing fatigue.

Boozer did not have a great deal of game time in Beijing, averaging under seven minutes per game and missing the final, although he did come up with six points and six rebounds in just nine minutes of USA's final group win over Germany.

"I just want to get out there and pump everybody up, and slap everybody on the tush, and pick it up a little bit."
