Visa invites fans around the world to be part of the “global cheer”

Worldwide Olympic Partner Visa is inviting fans around the world to use social media to “cheer” on their favourite Team Visa athletes to victory at the London 2012 Olympic and Paralympic Games.

The Visa Cheer application offers fans a bespoke user experience that allows them to browse athlete content based on their likes and preferences and submit their own cheer via the Visa Facebook page by either simply clicking for their athlete of choice, uploading a post or a picture or creating their own video cheer.

The athlete content available includes commercials and training videos from Team Visa athletes such as Michael Phelps (USA, swimming), Li Na (CHN, tennis) and Yelena Isinbaeva (RUS, pole vault), that provide a behind-the-scenes glimpse into the athletes’ journeys to the Games.

The “global cheer” is at the core of Visa’s Olympic Games-themed integrated marketing campaign, “Go World”.
