Tickets for the Vancouver 2010 Olympic Winter Games will go on sale in October 2008, the Vancouver 2010 Organising Committee (VANOC) announced yesterday. During the launch, VANOC unveiled details of how Canadians and visitors from around the world can have the experience of a lifetime by attending an Olympic event in 2010, with its website www.vancouver2010.com acting as the starting point for people interested in getting more information.

Speaking about the experience that awaits fans from across the globe in Vancouver in 2010 VANOC CEO John Furlong said, “Attending the Vancouver 2010 Olympic Winter Games, and sharing gold medal moments in one of the most beautiful settings in the world, will be unforgettable.” He continued “Experiencing the Olympic Winter Games here in Canada where winter sport is part of our culture is an opportunity that may not come along again for many years and we invite the world to join us in 2010.”
While tickets will not go on sale until next year, fans interested in finding out more can already go to www.vancouver2010.com, where they can sign-up to receive important news about ticketing directly to their personal e-mails. In addition, fans will also have access to information about competition schedules, helpful planning tools, an online ticket exchanges and donation programme, the latest release about VANOC merchandise, and a number of other exciting opportunities. VANOC will also soon begin developing plans for deploying seamless information about Vancouver 2010 tickets to fans outside Canada in association with National Olympic Committees and their agencies.
Vancouver and Whistler will host the XXI Olympic Winter Games from 12 to 28 February 2010 and the 2010 Paralympic Winter Games from 12 to 21 March 2010.
