The Vancouver Olympic/Paralympic Centre was built to host the curling events at the Olympic Winter Games Vancouver 2010. After the Games, the facility was converted into a multi-purpose community recreation centre.
Currently known as the Hillcrest Park/Nat Bailey Stadium, the Centre offers activities and programmes for all ages and abilities. It features an aquatics centre, a fitness centre, an ice rink, a gymnasium, indoor cycling facilities, multi-purpose rooms, a games room, a dance studio, playgrounds, a childcare centre and a café. The integrated community space provides open and engaging recreation and wellness facilities and has revitalised an important public site through the consolidation of three ageing facilities. A bustling hub with a library, pool, skating rink, curling rink, gymnasium and field team rooms, Hillcrest is a gathering place for children, families and community members. It receives over 2 million visitors a year.
