Panasonic brought Rio 2016 Ceremonies to life

Worldwide Olympic Partner Panasonic played a key role in the Opening Ceremony of the Rio 2016 Olympic Games.

Panasonic, which has been contributing to the Olympic Games with its cutting-edge audio-visual technology for more than a quarter of a century, is an Official Ceremony Partner of Rio 2016 and provided turnkey visual operations for both the Opening and Closing Ceremonies.

This includes more than 100 high brightness compact 20,000 lumen projectors (PT-DZ21K2), multiple Broadcast Grade 2-M/E Live Switchers (AV-HS6000 Series), and other visual equipment, which will help to enhance the quality and excitement of the ceremonies by delivering impressive images to audiences around the globe.

Panasonic is also in charge of providing a turnkey visual solution, including projector system design, technical consultation, system installation, and onsite operation and maintenance of the visual systems at the Games.

In addition to its role as an Official Ceremony Partner, Panasonic is providing the Olympic Games Rio 2016 with a wide range of AV equipment, including LED large screen display systems, professional sound systems, broadcasting equipment, security camera systems and TVs.

The company is also welcoming visitors at the Games to its showcasing pavilion at Sugarloaf Mountain. Named the ‘Stadium of Wonders’, the pavilion will feature a visual presentation of Panasonic's long and proud history of supporting the Olympic Games, as well as a stunning 4K theatre showing a wide variety of Olympic-related films in stunning ultra high definition. The Stadium of Wonders will also highlight some of Panasonic’s cutting-edge innovations, such as transparent displays and Optical ID technology.
