OMEGA counts down to Nanjing 2014 as Official Timekeeper

To keep up with the pace of some of the best young athletes in the world, Worldwide TOP Partner OMEGA will be on hand as the Official Timekeeper of the Nanjing 2014 Youth Olympic Games to time, measure, record, display and distribute the results of each competition for all 28 sports.

The stats are certainly impressive: in Nanjing, OMEGA will serve as Official Timekeeper for all 222 events in 28 different sports at 27 competition venues. Some 330 on-site professionals and technicians will be supported by 450 trained volunteers, using 80 tonnes of equipment, including 28 public scoreboard controllers, as well as 118 sport-specific scoreboards, 85 kilometres of cables and optical fibre and 38 TV graphic generators. Since 1932, OMEGA has served as Official Timekeeper at 26 Olympic Games and all editions of the YOG since Singapore 2010.

And as we gear up for the start of the Games on 16 August, OMEGA is once again helping us count down the days with a six-metre “Youth Olympic Games Countdown Clock” in Nanjing’s Xinjiekou Square. The clock was unveiled last year to mark the one-year-to-go milestone.

The final countdown is on!
