First signing session at the Olympic Museum
A first signing session took place on 19 April with Francis Gabet, Olympic Museum Director, and Jotaro Ueji, Director General of the Mizuno Foundation for the Promotion of Sport. Another contract already linked Mizuno and the Museum from 2001 to 2004 and concerned the provision of uniforms for the Museum’s guides.

Founded in 1906, Mizuno is specialised in making high quality sportswear. Its management philosophy highlights quality, competitiveness and respect for the environment. In 1972, 1980, 1984 and 1988, the company was an Official Supplier for the Olympic Games in Sapporo, Moscow, Sarajevo and Seoul. In 1992, at the Barcelona Games, Mizuno became an Official Sponsor and clothed many athletes. In 1996, it became Official Sponsor in Japan and Official Supplier of the Atlanta Games.
“Gold” sponsor in Nagano
At the Olympic Winter Games in Nagano in 1998, the multinational was a “gold” sponsor and clothed some 850 athletes. At Sydney, in 2000, the firm was responsible for supplying the official uniform for the 450 athletes representing Japan. Today, Mizuno provides the IOC and its administrative team with clothing and accessories for the Olympic Games and other events.
