With some 3,600 athletes from more than 200 countries competing in 26 sports, the Singapore 2010 Youth Olympic Games (YOG) were two weeks of emotions, adventures and new experiences both on and off the field, for the athletes and spectators, as well as for the volunteers and the Olympic Movement.
Three years later, we’ve not only seen our young YOG athletes venture down new roads, but we’ve also seen a number of them sprinkle YOG magic at the London 2012 Olympic Games, with the likes of Jade Jones (GBR), Yi Tang (CHN) and Chad le Clos (RSA), taking home medals.
As we prepare now for the second edition of the Summer YOG, set to take place in Nanjing, China, next year, we wanted to use this occasion to thank all the YOGgies and our fans for spreading the Olympic spirit and being part of the journey.
And for those who missed it three years ago, or simply want to relive it, watch this video on the highlights of Singapore 2010:
