During the last few months, IPACS members have participated in a number of important events to raise awareness about the fight against corruption in sport and invite more stakeholders to join the partnership for coordinated and efficient action. Most recently, in mid-June, the IOC spoke on behalf of IPACS at the plenary session of the CoE’s Group of States against Corruption (GRECO). The session in Strasbourg was attended by 49 GRECO member states, represented by their Ministries of Justice and Foreign Affairs and their National Anti-Corruption Agencies. The IOC explained IPACS’ mission and activities and exchanged views on how the governments could both support and benefit from IPACS.

Later this month, IPACS will participate in the 10th meeting of the Commonwealth Sports Ministers, which will be held at the Birmingham 2022 Commonwealth Games. The Canadian Government, currently chairing IPACS, will seize the opportunity to highlight the advantages of strengthened cooperation between sports organisations and governments with the shared objective of tackling corruption in sport.

In the last week of October, Paris will host an IOC-OECD international workshop on procurement for major sports events. The objective is to involve key stakeholders in developing guidelines on the effective delivery of infrastructure and associated services and discuss related challenges. The Organising Committees of Paris 2024, Milano Cortina 2026 and LA 2028 will participate as well and are expected to benefit significantly from the exchanges with experts. The outcomes of the meeting will facilitate the validation of the project’s main findings, establishing solutions to identified challenges and presenting the draft guidelines.

Finally, the IPACS Steering Committee will meet at the end of the year to endorse the outcomes of IPACS’ activities in 2022, discuss the future strategic plan and conduct the elections of the IPACS Chair and Bureau members.
