IOC names evaluation commission for 2008 Olympic Games

The International Olympic Committee (IOC) today announced the composition of the Evaluation Commission that will review the qualifications of the candidate cities to host the Games of the XXIX Olympiad in 2008.

The Commission is composed of external experts and representatives of the IOC, National Olympic Committees (NOCs), International Federations (IFs), athletes, and for the first time, of one representative of the International Paralympic Committee (IPC). The Commission will meet to organise its work and then conduct on-the-ground analysis of the five candidate cities: Beijing, Istanbul, Osaka, Paris, and Toronto, between mid-February and mid-April 2001.
