The Stadium was originally built to host the 1986 World Expo and was the first Canadian stadium to have a roof. During the 1980s, the Stadium had the world’s largest air-supported dome. However, after the Olympic Winter Games 2010, the dome was replaced with a retractable roof, which is the largest of its kind.
The venue plays host to sporting and cultural events such as football, American football and rugby matches, as well as music concerts. It is ranked among the top 100 international venues for the “best stadium experience of 2016”.
