बायोग्राफी

Robert Zimmermann took part in eight World Championships and two Olympics and later became a coach. In 1969 he was involved in the filming of the James Bond film "On Her Majesty's Secret Service" with George Lazenby, performing stunts for James Bond as a bobsledder, as the stuntman for the bad guy Ernst Stavro Blofeld running down the bobsled track. In his youth Zimmermann played football, was active as a gymnast and was even Swiss champion in the pentathlon. He also launched the Swiss Engadin Ski Marathon (racing in it 16 times) and also played ice hockey. In later years he was an active tennis player and sailor.

Since the 1950s he was working as a beverage dealer. Beside his sporting activities he also was a multi-sports administrator, working in the Swiss bob federation in the technical commission, as a delegation director, and as the start director of the bobsled track in St. Moritz between 1972 and 1997. He died at the age of 78 after a long and heavy illness and was survived by his son Kurt and his girlfriend Hildy.
