बायोग्राफी

With four Olympic medals, Martin Höllwarth has won more Olympic ski jumping medals than any Austrian, through 2012. At Albertville in 1992 he won silver medals in all three Olympic ski jumping events, adding a bronze medal in the team event at the 1998 Winter Olympics. His 1992 Olympic success came as a 17-year-old and was only a few weeks after he finished second to Toni Nieminen in the Four Hills Tournament. In 1991 Höllwarth had won gold on the normal hill at the World Junior Championships.

Between Albertville and Nagano, his career sputtered, but Höllwarth returned to win six medals at the World Championships between 1999 and 2005, with three golds, all in team events. He won one individual medal, a bronze at the 2001 Worlds in Lahti on the normal hill, and won eight events during his World Cup career, which lasted from 1991-2008. In February 2001 Höllwarth was driving a car involved in an accident, in which his former coach, Alois Lipburger, was killed. Höllwarth and another passenger, Andreas Widhölzl, suffered only minor injuries. After his jumping retirement in 2008 he became coach of the Estonian national team, but that lasted for only one year.
