बायोग्राफी

Sprinter Klaus-Dieter Kurrat appeared in two Olympics. In 1976 at Montréal he won a silver medal with the sprint relay and finished seventh in the 100, and four years later in Moskva he was eliminated in the second round of the 100. Kurrat participated in the 1979 World Cup (fourth with the relay), two European Cups (winner in 1973 and runner-up in 1979, both with the relay), and the European Indoors in 1977 and 1979 (fourth and fifth in the 60 m, respectively). He won six outdoor and four indoor East German titles.

In 1978 Kurrat married Olympic gymnast Kerstin Gerschau and worked as an athletics coach. After German reunification they owned a fitness studio and dance school. He eventually became a trainer in the sports center Kleinmachnow and then CEO of a sports and wellness center in Wildau. Their three daughters also later became dance coaches in their school.

Personal Best: 100 – 10.22 (1976).
