बायोग्राफी

Cyclist Julius Maus was a German living in the US since 1931. He finished 32nd 30th in the individual road race at the 1932 Los Angeles Olympics, and was in the German team that finished eighth.

Maus drowned in the Atlantic Ocean in 1934 when the luxury cruise ship SS Morro Castle sank on one if its regular runs between New York and Havana (Cuba). The accident was caused by a fire in the first class writing salon during violent weather just eight nautical miles off the coast of New Jersey. There were 137 deaths among the 318 passengers and 231 crew members, although the accident had only occurred eight nautical miles off the coast of New Jersey. Julius Maus was working as a liftboy to the crew members. He was still a German citizen at the time of his death.
