Harley “Doc” Strong wrestled lightweight at the 1936 Olympics. He competed for Oklahoma A&M (later Oklahoma State), winning the 1935 NCAA title at 135 lbs. (62 kg). Strong later spent some time as an assistant wrestling coach at the University of Oklahoma. While in that job, he was arrested for public drunkenness. Shortly after he was locked up, Strong killed himself by hanging himself with his belt wrapped around a cell bar.
