German diver Hans Luber was European Champion on platform in 1926 and 1927. Between 1910 and 1927 he won 13 German Championships. In 1912 and 1913 Luber also won the Austrian Championships. At the 1912 Stockholm Olympics Luber was eliminated in the first round of the platform and the plain high diving event, but he took silver on springboard behind his teammate Paul Günther, but ahead of Kurt Behrens and Albert Zürner, underlining the German dominance in this event.
By profession, Luber became a teacher at the Deutsche Hochschule für Leibeserziehungen (German High School for Gymnastic Exercises) in Leipzig, and also a sports teacher for the Berlin Electricity Company. In 1914 he wrote the textbook Der Schwimmsport.
