The most successful team pursuit cyclist in history, Guido Fulst won four World Championships and two Olympic golds in the event. His first title came in 1989, while still a member of the German Democratic Republic (East Germany) amateur quartet. After German unification, he added further titles in 1993, 1999 and 2000, while also collecting three silver and two bronze medals. At the Olympic Games, Fulst won gold medals in 1992 and 2000, while taking an individual bronze in 2004 in the points race. He has also won three six-day races.
