बायोग्राफी

Javelin thrower Erich Stoschek failed to reach the final at the 1928 Amsterdam Olympics. Stoschek won three West German Championships in different javelin events (at that time it was usual to hold both-hand events). Stoschek was born in Upper Silesia, then belonging to the German Reich, but in 1940 he moved to Peenemünde working as a marine shipyard employee. In 1950 he was awarded the Gold Needle of the German Athletics Association. In 1946 he was a co-founder of the “Association of Former Athletes” and from 1951-53 one of the co-editors of their newsletter. His daughter Martina was also a javelin thrower.

Personal Best: JT – 63.95 (1930).
