Runner Erich Lehmann was eliminated in the heats of the 400 and 800 metres at the 1912 Stockholm Olympic Games. He was also a member of the 4x400 relay which was also eliminated in the heats. The same year he became German Champion in the 800. In 1913 Lehmann set a world record in the 1000 (indoor) and in 1914 another one in the 500. He was killed in action during World War I in 1918 presumably near Berlin, as he is buried in the war cemetery at Berlin-Neukölln.
