Biographie

Zinaida Amosova made her international début at the 1976 Olympic Games, where she won gold as a member of the Soviet relay team and was sixth in both the 5 and 10 km. The 1978 World Championships were very successful for her as she won both the 10 and 20 km races, was third in the relay, and sixth at 5 km. Amosova made her last international appearance at the 1980 World Championships, where she was sixth in the 20 km. Amosova also won bronze at the first Women's World Cup in 1978-79. Domestically she won three Soviet titles – in the 20 km in 1976 and in the relay in 1974 and 1979. After her sporting career Amosova worked as a cross-country skiing coach.
