Biographie

Bill Graber won the combined AAU/Olympic Trials pole vault in 1932, setting a world record of 4.37 (14-4⅜) in the process. En route he had also equaled the previous world record of 4.30. He was NCAA pole vault champion in 1931 and was favored at the 1932 Olympics, but performed below form and failed to win a medal. He again won the NCAA title in 1933, representing Southern Cal, and also won the AAU meet in 1934. He won the 1936 Olympic Trials, tying for first, but also failed to medal in Berlin. Graber was also IC4A Champion for three consecutive years, 1931-33.

Personal Best: PV – 4.40 (14-5½) (1935).
