Biographie

After winning the Final Trials, Tom Hill confirmed his position as one of the favorites for the 1972 Olympic high hurdles title by winning the first semi-final at München. In the Olympic final he hit the fifth hurdle and only managed to take the bronze medal when Willie Davenport, who was in second place, hit the eighth hurdle. While at Arkansas State, Hill's best placing at the NCAA was second in 1972, but he won three AAU titles and in 1977 he reached the AAU final for the sixth time. His son, Thomas Hill, Jr., played basketball at Duke and was on their national championship teams in 1991-92.
