Biographie

Robert Edward PEARCE

In high school, Bob Pearce was coached by Oscar Berg, who developed another American gold medalist, Jack VanBebber. Pearce then went to Oklahoma State, where he won two AAU titles. He was NCAA champion in 1931, and lost in the finals in 1932. While in 1928 he had failed to qualify at the US Olympic Trials, placing third, in 1932 he won the gold medal in bantamweight freestyle. From 1933-37 Pearce worked as a professional wrestler and then as a coach. He ultimately settled in Canada.
