Biographie

Discus thrower Paula Mollenhauer won a bronze medal at the 1936 Berlin Olympic Games. Eight years earlier she had finished 12th at the Amsterdam Games. In 1938 she earned another bronze at the European Championships. Domestically she won German Championships in 1929, 1931 and 1943. From 1946-49 she was a women’s representative with the German Athletics Federation. She also started occasionally as a shot putter but with limited success.

Mollenhauer was also a successful handball player, with the women's team of SC Victoria Hamburg. She won several titles in both the Hamburg and North German Championships in field handball, and in 1930 was captain of the team at the German Championships.
