Biographie

Paul Sievert was sixth in the 50km race walk at the 1932 Los Angeles Olympics. In 1924-25 and 1933 he was German Champion at this distance, placing second in 1926-27, 1929 and 1932. In 1924, he bettered the world record with 4-34:03. Sievert lost his father at the age of five years, but later trained as a mechanic. During World War I he won three so-called luggage marches. The Paul Sievert Medal is awarded annually to the German champion in the 50 km walk.
