Biographie

Paul FRITSCH

Paul Fritsch was the first French boxer to win an Olympic title, defeating his countryman, Jean Gachet, in the final. Gachet had defeated Fritsch for the 1920 French title before the Olympics. After more than 300 amateur bouts, Fritsch turned professional in 1921. He had 99 professional fights (there are varying figures), but never became a major champion, and had to abandon boxing due to a retinal detachment. Fritsch later became a car salesman.
