Biographie

Max Böhland won the AAU Cross-Country in 1918 and won the indoor 2-mile in 1921. At the 1919 AAU meet, he also finished third in the 5-miles and the steeplechase. He ran cross-country for the USA at the 1920 Olympics, representing the Paulist AC. Born in Germany, he came to the US in 1914, and was naturalized as a citizen in May 1920, only a few months before the Antwerpen Olympics. Böhland worked as a brick mason.
