Biographie

While a student at Stanford, Marion Holley was a high jumper for the Northern California Athletic Club when she made the 1928 Olympic Team. Holley later married David Hofman, an Englishman who was a member of the Bahá'í Faith. Holley embraced the faith and together they were active members of the Bahá'í Community, establishing Bahá'í communities in Northhampton, Birmingham, Oxford, Cardiff, and Watford. Hofman served for 27 years as a member of the National Spiritual Assembly of the United Kingdom and was elected to the Universal House of Justice at the first International Convention in 1963, the Supreme Governing Body of the Bahá'í Faith, and served on that body for 25 years.
