Biographie

Marina Sanaya was a singles skater who represented the Soviet Union at several international events between 1972-74. She was the daughter of Valter Sanaya, who had played goal for FC Dynamo Moskva and DC Dynamo Tbilisi football teams in the 1950s. In addition to her 1972 Winter Olympics appearance, Marina competed at the World Championships in 1972 and 1973 and the Europeans from 1972-74. Sanaya’s best performance at the Soviet Championships was as a runner-up in 1973. Sanaya later became a skating official and judge. She was the Russian judge for the pairs event at the 2002 Winter Olympics.
