Biographie

After competing at the 1952 Winter Olympics, Jannette Burr competed at the 1954 World Championships, winning a bronze medal in the giant slalom. That was her best year, placing second in combined at Arlberg-Kandahar and at the Garmisch Classic. Burr started out as a water skier, competing in that sport in the 1940s. In 1950 she won the North American and US downhill titles. A native of Sun Valley, Idaho, Burr served as the ski double for Lucille Ball in the movie “Lucy Goes to Sun Valley.”
