Biographie

Ines Reichenbach came in eighth in the shot put under her maiden name at the 1980 Moskva Olympics and fourth under her married name Ines Müller at the 1988 Seoul Olympics. She had more luck at the 1987 World Championships, earning the bronze medal, and the 1986 Europeans, winning the silver medal. At the 1985 and 1987 European Cups she came in third and second. Reichenbach-Müller won another silver medal at the 1985 World Indoors. Domestically she won 1985 and 1986 East German Championships, also winning indoors in 1984. She also competed occasionally in the discus. Her son Hendrik Müller also became a shot putter.

Many documents on doping in the former GDR became public after reunification, and her name was found in the list of doped athletes. Reichenbach-Müller later became a regional athletics coach with the Association for Disability and Rehabilitation Sports in Mecklenburg-Vorpommern.
