Biographie

Hershel Anderson was a pistol shooter who was a sergeant in the US Army stationed at Fort Benning, Georgia in both 1972 and 1976. He was US free pistol champion in 1967, 1971, and 1975-76. Anderson was Interservice free pistol champion from 1969-72 and was second at the 1962 CISM Tournament. Anderson won 10 medals at the Pan American Games in 1967, 1971, and 1975, with seven gold medals and three silver. He won three individual Pan Am gold medals in the 1967 free pistol and with the free pistol and air pistol in 1975. Anderson’s responsibility in the Army was as a tanker and he served in the Berlin Brigade and the American Division Sniper School in Vietnam. He received the Distinguished International Shooters Badge.
