John Parlett had the following podium finishes at major championships: 1st in the 1950 British Empire Games 880 yards, 2nd in the 1950 British Empire Games 4×440 yards Relay (with Derek Pugh, Les Lewis, and Terry Higgins). In the British Empire Games Parlett competed for England.
