Fritz Kuchen’s three bronze medals won at Antwerpen in 1920 are on display in the Swiss Shooters’ Museum in Bern along with his other additional international medals and the respective diplomas. In 1893 he entered his first local competition and continued to compete until he was 90-years-old. His first major success was a victory at the 1907 Federal Shooting Festival. Kuchen won three world championship titles in the team free rifle, 3-positions (1912, 1914, 1927), one with the team small-bore rifle, standing (1929), and one with the military rifle, kneeling in 1912, which was his greatest individual title. Kuchen was a machine mechanic and, beginning in 1913, a gunsmith with his own workshop, which was particularly known for its crossbows.
