Biographie

A Salt Lake City native, Curtis Canning was All-State in football in high school but took up rowing at Harvard and never rowed on a losing crew with the Crimson. He won a gold medal at the 1967 Pan American Games in the eights. After the Olympics Canning spent a year in the Peace Corps but then returned to school, attending medical school at the University of Utah, graduating in 1973. He later became a psychiatrist practicing in Logan, Utah.
