Aurélien Giraud could be the man to watch in front of his home fans at La Concorde when the skateboard competitions take place at the Olympic Games Paris 2024.

The street skateboarder, who hails from Lyon, is one of France's top skateboard hopes having racked up an impressive list of career, and will look to add more ranking points to his Olympic qualification hopes at the 2022 Street World Championships being held in Sharjah, UAE, in 2023.

How old is Aurélien Giraud? When did Aurélien Giraud start skateboarding?

Giraud was born on 3 February 1998, and first tried the sport aged four at his local Ville de Lyon skatepark. It wasn't until the year after that his father bought him his first board, aged five – and the Frenchman has been skateboarding ever since.

Aurélien Giraud's skateboard stance and career

Giraud rides goofy, meaning his right foot is his predominant foot on the board and he uses his left foot for propulsion. The Frenchman's first career breakthrough was in 2015 when he won the Street League Skateboarding Tampa Am contest in Florida as a 17-year-old – one of the most prestigious amateur events on the circuit.
